Privacy policy
Last updated: 24 October 2026. This policy explains what information Njeru Merchants Football Insights collects when you use njerumerchants.co.ke, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
In short
- You do not need an account, and we do not ask for your name or payment details.
- We record basic visit data, including your IP address, to run the site, keep it secure and understand how it is used. IP addresses are erased after 90 days.
- We show advertising through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to show and measure ads.
- We do not sell your personal data.
- You can ask us what we hold about you and ask us to correct or delete it.
1. Who we are
Njeru Merchants Football Insights is operated by Njeru Merchants, based in Kenya (“we”, “us”). For the purposes of the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019, we are the data controller for information collected through this site. You can reach us at info@njerumerchants.co.ke or through the Contact page.
2. What we collect
Visit data (automatic). When you open a page, our server records:
- your IP address;
- the date and time of the visit and how long you stay active on the site;
- the pages you open;
- your browser type and operating system, and whether you are on a phone, tablet or computer;
- the website that referred you to us, such as a search engine.
Messages you send us. If you contact us, we keep your message and the contact details you provide so that we can reply.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data, and we do not use your data to make automated decisions about you.
3. Why we use it
- To provide and secure the site, including detecting abuse, automated traffic and errors.
- To understand usage, such as which pages are popular and how many people are online, so that we can improve the site.
- To show advertising that helps pay for the site.
- To reply to messages you send.
- To meet legal obligations.
Our lawful bases are our legitimate interests in running and securing the site, your consent where it is required (for example for advertising cookies), and compliance with the law.
4. Analytics
We measure traffic with our own server-side analytics. It does not use analytics cookies or third-party tracking scripts. Visitors are counted using a one-way, daily-changing code made from the IP address and browser type, so we cannot follow a person from one day to the next. Crawlers such as search-engine bots are recorded separately. We use the IP address to see where traffic comes from, to spot abuse and to show how many people are on the site.
5. Cookies and advertising
The site itself does not need cookies to work. We show ads through Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, device identifiers and similar technologies to show ads, limit how often you see an ad, and measure how ads perform. Some ads may be personalised based on your earlier visits to this and other websites.
You can control this:
- Manage or turn off personalised ads at adssettings.google.com.
- Read how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some ads may still appear, but they will be less relevant to you.
- Where we show a consent message, you can accept or refuse non-essential cookies there.
6. Third-party services
- Google AdSense serves advertising, as described above.
- football-data.org supplies fixture and result data. Team and competition crests may be loaded from their servers, which receive your IP address when your browser fetches them.
- Google Fonts supplies some of the fonts used on this page. Google receives your IP address when your browser fetches them.
These providers have their own privacy policies, and we do not control how they use your data.
7. How long we keep data
- IP addresses in our visit records: erased after 90 days.
- Visit records without IP addresses and summary statistics: up to 180 days.
- Messages you send us: as long as needed to deal with your request, then deleted.
8. Who we share data with
We share data only with the service providers that run the site, such as our web hosting provider, and with the advertising and data partners named above. We may disclose data if the law requires it, or to protect the site and its users from fraud and abuse. We do not sell personal data.
9. Transfers outside Kenya
Some of our providers, including Google, process data outside Kenya. Where this happens, we rely on providers that apply appropriate safeguards for personal data, as the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019 requires.
10. Security
We protect the site and our records with access controls, password-protected administration and secure connections (HTTPS). No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to prevent loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
11. Your rights
Under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019 you may:
- ask whether we hold personal data about you and get a copy;
- ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your data;
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use your data;
- withdraw consent you have given, at any time.
To use these rights, write to us at info@njerumerchants.co.ke or through the Contact page. We may need your IP address and the approximate date of your visit to find your records. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner of Kenya at www.odpc.go.ke.
12. Children
This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
13. Football information only
Probabilities, scorelines and other predictions on this site are statistical estimates for information and entertainment. They are not betting, financial or professional advice, and we do not guarantee any outcome. Please do not gamble more than you can afford to lose. Betting is for adults aged 18 and over only. If gambling is causing you harm, seek help from a licensed counselling or support service.
14. Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change, and we will change the date at the top. Please check it from time to time.
